Anderson Cooper Remembers Gordon Parks

SHAFT director Gordon Parks died this week, and I only really knew him as the groundbreaking black director who brought us the trend-setting SHAFT starring Richard Roundtree. (Toothlessly remade in 2000 as a glorified TV movie starring Samuel L. Jackson.)

I sometimes forget that CNN's Anderson Cooper is the son of Gloria Vanderbilt, so I was a bit taken aback when I saw this lengthy blog post on the CNN site about the director/photographer's passing.
