I'm bummed out to report that Italian horror director Bruno Mattei (aka Vincent Dawn and about a hundred other pseudonyms) has passed away.Often unfairly dismissed as a hack, Mattei made one of my favorite films in exploitation history – NIGHT OF THE ZOMBIES (aka HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD) – as well as other highly entertaining stuff like RATS: A NIGHT OF TERROR, WHITE APACHE, ROBOWAR, ZOMBIE 3 and much, much more.
