GASP Etc. Horror/Metal Site Launches

Walk around any horror convention or go to a showing of any gore flick and it's obvious that horror movies and heavy metal go hand-in-hand. (standing for Gruesome Art, Shocking Persons, etc.) got its official launch today and immediately joins my list of bookmarked movie (and music) sites. (For the uninitiated, GASPEtc. was a movie and metal zine that ran from 1993 to 1994. Back issues are available at the site.)

The site features reviews of obscure gore and straight-to-video horror and the debut feature is by none other than Tomb of DVD/Tomb It May Concern scribe David Zuzelo, a good pal well versed in the ways of Eurotrash and supersleaze. Be sure to check out his profile/appreciation of Lina Romay, the muse of tireless director Jess Franco (who directed the great Klaus Kinski in VENUS IN FURS, JACK THE RIPPER and EL CONDE DRACULA to name a few).

For you metal mavens there's a section of metal reviews for bands like Venom, Voivod, Soul's Unrest, Gein and the Graverobbers and more as well as commentary. It looks like other features in both movies and music will be added as the site grows.

Check it out!
