Sports Guy Gets Curious

I may be a complete trash film junkie but I also love sports (mainly pro football, college hoops and pro hockey) and I'm convinced that ESPN.com's Bill Simmons (aka The Sports Guy) is the best sportswriter working today -- even if he is a Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan. Simmons effortlessly weaves his personal life, popular culture and sports into a highly entertaining and addictive brew.

Simmons, like me, digs the hell out of Malcolm Gladwell, the guy who wrote the great THE TIPPING POINT and, judging from his press photos, has hair like Sideshow Bob. This week, Sports Guy exchanges e-mails with Gladwell and the two chat about such diverse topics as the contract year, live vs. televised sports, and why Gladwell considers himself the Jake Plummer of The New Yorker.
