It's October 18th and that can only mean one thing – it's time to celebrate the 81st birthday of the one, the only Klaus Kinski. It's hard to believe that Klaus has almost been gone for 16 years and the thought is doubly tragic when you consider how great it would be if he was still around today, appearing on reality shows (FOX's 'So You Want to Be the Next German Olivier', perhaps?), and providing commentary for the many Klaus flicks still to make their way to legit DVD.
Sigh. In the meantime we'll just have to make do with the memories we have and cherish those special Klaus-tastic moments that make his flicks so worthwhile.
Don't know what to do to commemorate the day? Why not check out our Online Guide to Klaus Kinski at the Exploitation Retrospect website? You can sample reviews of such K2 flicks as DEATH SMILED AT MURDER, VENOM and LIFESPAN, read our popular interview with Kinski Kostar Barry Hickey, or even check out an American Film article about him.
